Journalist Graeme Bailey shared on TBR that Chelsea is interested in PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte as a replacement option for Conor Gallagher.
Manuel Ugarte was recruited by PSG from Sporting Lisbon last summer for around 60 million euros. However, the Uruguayan midfielder hasn’t been given many starting opportunities in Ligue 1, and the French giants might sell him at a loss this summer.
Ugarte can say goodbye to PSG.
Ugarte is said to be “ready” to move to Chelsea, which comes as no surprise given his situation at Paris. Meanwhile, journalist Graeme Bailey shared on TBR that Chelsea is interested in PSG’s midfielder as a potential replacement for Conor Gallagher.
However, this option needs careful consideration as Chelsea still has plenty of midfield personnel. Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu, who have respectively been absent for 99% and 70% of match time, are considered newcomers for The Blues in the upcoming season.
In the context of Chelsea facing close scrutiny on their financial reports, continuing to splash out on promising players doesn’t seem like a wise option unless they can sell players like Gallagher at a significant profit.
