Real Madrid isn’t ready to welcome Kylian Mbappe, while PSG doesn’t intend to hold a farewell ceremony for the player, following the announcement of his departure from Paris at the end of the season.
Le Parisien reports that PSG has decided not to organize a farewell event for Mbappe at the Parc des Princes, where he will play his final home game for the Paris team tonight (against Toulouse on the night of May 12), after confirming his departure, ending a 7-year relationship, on Friday.
In the end, Mbappe also chose to leave PSG, definitely not extending for another year as desired, appearing in the shirt held by him and President Al-Khelaifi when the two sides renewed in May 2022.
This source provides additional information, stating that PSG’s leadership was surprised by Mbappe’s announcement, despite knowing that he had chosen to leave at the end of the season. Additionally, in his farewell video message, the forward expressed gratitude to everyone but notably did not mention President Al-Khelaifi.
Citing time constraints and the prioritization of celebrating the team’s Ligue 1 title (already scheduled), the club will not hold any farewell tribute to Mbappe at the Parc des Princes tonight.
Meanwhile, following Real Madrid’s easy 4-0 victory over Granada, which relegated the opponent, Coach Ancelotti was asked about Mbappe. The typically composed Italian tactician responded, “Kylian Mbappe? I’m not thinking about that topic right now. At the moment, Real Madrid has more important matters to focus on.”
The prospect of Mbappe joining Real Madrid is as clear as day for everyone, with only the official confirmation from those involved missing.
Real Madrid reportedly plans to announce the signing of Mbappe after Coach Ancelotti and his team play the Champions League final against Dortmund at Wembley at 2 a.m. on June 2nd.
While Mbappe has yet to confirm the official date of his unveiling with Los Blancos, French President Emmanuel Macron has directly addressed and even requested the club to release him, as quoted by El Chiringuito:
“I’m counting on Real Madrid. I hope they will release Mbappe to participate in the Paris Olympics.”
Real Madrid is said to have informed all the associations of players they own that they will not release anyone for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
