Arsenal has just confirmed the Premier League championship parade route in case they win this title.
Currently, the Gunners are leading the table with 1 point ahead of Man City, a team eager to defend their title. Despite Arsenal’s advantage, Man City is still highly regarded with a match in hand.
Man City’s remaining fixtures include away trips to Fulham and Tottenham, followed by a home match against West Ham. Arsenal will travel to Old Trafford this Sunday, then conclude the season with a home game against Everton, where they hope to kickstart their title celebration.
And the club has begun planning for the victory parade if they manage to overcome Man City. This is a mandatory requirement as the parade route announcement and other activity arrangements need to be coordinated in advance with the city council and police.
According to the preliminary plan, the parade will take place on Monday, May 20th. The parade will start from the Emirates Stadium at 5 p.m., with a parade bus traveling along Drayton Park, Aubert Park, Highbury Grove, St Paul’s Road, Upper Street, and returning to the stadium.
Arsenal’s celebratory parade route
The parade procession will return to the Emirates at 7 p.m., where players will appear on the upper tier of The Armoury shop on Hornsey Road. The celebration ceremony is expected to formally conclude at 8 p.m., although fans and stars are likely to continue celebrating into the night.
Arsenal has also outlined initial plans for security and guidance to ensure the smooth running of the event, with barriers and safety tape set up. This means there will be a limit on the number of people allowed to view the area near the stands.
Local residents are also advised to carry identification with their address to help them navigate through the expected crowds. Additionally, a parking ban will be enforced from 8:30 a.m. on Monday, with all vehicles required to vacate the parade route beforehand.
Road closures will begin at 4 p.m., and restrictions will be lifted as early as possible, estimated around 9 p.m. Meanwhile, bus routes around Islington will be diverted due to road closures for the parade.
Matchday crowd control measures may also be in place at nearby Underground stations Arsenal, Holloway Road, Highbury & Islington, and Finsbury Park. Fans wishing to attend this potential event are advised to check the TFL website for the latest updates.
This parade route mirrors the route taken by Arsene Wenger’s “Invincibles” team after they won the Premier League title in the 2003/04 season.
