Premier League cult icon, that’s my dad. I’m now breaking out on my own as a presenter; I’ve even conducted interviews with Bellingham and Kane.

Before questioning football players on live television, such as Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, Kenzie Benali will have had plenty of experience interviewing athletes.

This is because Francis Benali, a cult icon in the Premier League, is the daughter of the rising reporter.

With his stint as a professional at the Saints, having come through the system at his home club, the former full-back has earned legendary status in Southampton.

From 1988 to 2004, Benali Sr. made over 350 appearances for Southampton over a 16-year period, with just one goal.

While not playing in the 2003 FA Cup final, he did receive a runners-up medal, and in 2006–07, he played for Eastleigh.

Along his former Saints teammate Matt Le Tissier, he co-founded the 73 Management agency and launched the True Greats website after retiring. He also gives occasional after-dinner speeches and works as a pundit.

However, his charitable endeavors have brought him the MBE and Southampton Freedom.

In October 2016, he undertook two weeks of heroic efforts, cycling 75 miles a day for two weeks to visit every stadium in the Premier League and Championship.

Then, in 2019, he made an attempt to do seven Ironmans in seven days; he succeeded in five of them, needed hospitalization, and yet managed to raise an incredible £1 million.

Although Benali’s son Luke played a brief non-league stint with Winchester City, it is now Kenzie, the family’s football ambassador.

She began her profession as a broadcaster in front of the camera in May 1995, and she is already having great success.

Alongside Ben Foster, she co-hosts the Premier League Rising Stars show. She has also done a number of appearances on shows including The Hundred, Southampton, Wimbledon, England rugby, and cricket. During her time at Wimbledon, she conducted an interview with Andy Murray.

Her greatest roles, meanwhile, have been covering the FA Cup, the World Cup in Qatar, and the England football squad. She has also been seen on live television conversing with players like John Stones, Bellingham, Kane, and Kevin De Bruyne.

In 2022, the well-known celebrity even donned football boots for a photo session with Puma.

Away from her career, Kenzie married Lewis McManus, a cricketer from Northamptonshire, in November 2021.

A daughter is expected to have their first child in 2024.
