Former ARSENAL player unconscious for 10 minutes on the field, at risk of ‘brain hemorrhage’ after taking a full ball to the head

Former Arsenal player, attacking midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide was unconscious for 10 minutes on the field after being hit in the face by the ball.

The incident occurred at the end of the first half of the match between Molenbeek and Charleroi in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League on May 4th. Jeff Reine-Adelaide started in this match and was hit in the face by the ball at close range. The 26-year-old player was unconscious on the field for 10 minutes while medical staff provided care and transported him directly to the hospital. There are concerns that he may have suffered a broken tooth after being hit in the face by the ball.

Molenbeek’s coach, Yannick Ferrera, revealed that Jeff Reine-Adelaide may have suffered a brain hemorrhage. “Jeff was unconscious for about 10 minutes. We fear he may have suffered a brain hemorrhage.”

However, representatives of Reine-Adelaide later refuted the above information when speaking to France’s L’Equipe: “Jeff is fine. There is no sign of hemorrhage or any lasting effects.”

Reine-Adelaide has regained consciousness and updated his health status on Instagram. “Thank you all for the messages of support. I feel more fortunate than unlucky.”

Lyon, the club where Jeff Reine-Adelaide previously played, is also concerned about the 26-year-old player’s health. “OL (Olympique Lyonnais) is always by your side in this difficult time. We wish you a speedy recovery, be brave and strong,” Lyon wrote in a social media message to Jeff Reine-Adelaide.
