Arsenal completely dominated the match against Bournemouth

Just when it seemed Arsenal would head into halftime without scoring, a surprise occurred in the final minutes. Goalkeeper Travers fouled Havertz inside the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick. Saka successfully converted the 11-meter shot to open the scoring in the 45th minute.

Although Travers made an error leading to Bournemouth’s goal, the away team’s goalkeeper cannot be blamed as he fought hard against Arsenal’s significant attacking pressure. After halftime, Arsenal continued to threaten the visitors’ goal with relentless attacks, yet Travers remained a trusted barrier for the away team.

However, the excellence of the English goalkeeper couldn’t keep Bournemouth standing forever. In the 70th minute, Rice provided an excellent assist for Trossard to neatly double the lead. The goal from the Belgian midfielder helped Arsenal assert their victory as they completely controlled the game.

Rice and Trossard celebrate Arsenal’s goal

After scoring two goals, Arsenal took a defensive approach, allowing Bournemouth more possession and opportunities to attack. However, the away team’s strikers didn’t pose too many difficulties for Raya.

Bournemouth managed to put the ball into Arsenal’s net in the 72nd minute, but the away player was penalized for fouling goalkeeper Raya, so the goal was disallowed. In the 85th minute, Gabriel celebrated a goal against Bournemouth, but the joy quickly faded as the referee called offside.

Just when Arsenal seemed content with a 2-0 victory, the home team unexpectedly scored their third goal in the 90+7th minute. Rice made a strong run into the visitors’ penalty area, received the ball, and decisively scored. Bournemouth’s defense played somewhat lax, and they paid the price.

With an additional 3 points, Arsenal rose to 83 points after 36 matches played, leading Man City by 4 points. However, the defending champions have only played 34 matches.
