Kylian Mbappe seemed dissatisfied with coach Luis Enrique after PSG’s 0-1 loss to Dortmund in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

Mbappe was not allowed to play in his favorite position by Enrique in the match against Dortmund.

In the early morning of May 2nd (Hanoi time), at the Signa Iduna Park stadium, the French champions had a poor performance against Dortmund. Mbappe had to play as the number 9 position, which is not his preferred position for most of the match, causing him dissatisfaction.

During an exchange between Coach Enrique and Mbappe on the sidelines, the French forward appeared angry when questioned by the coach. Tony Vairelles, a former French international, said on RMC: “I think Mbappe behaved a bit abnormally. When Luis Enrique questioned him, he seemed very angry.”

France Football commented that Mbappe had to play as the central number 9 position for most of the match against Dortmund. Coach Enrique was puzzling as he didn’t let the French striker play on the left wing, a position where he has freedom and familiarity.

Despite having to play in an unfamiliar position on the left, Mbappe still generated an xG of up to 0.37 and hit the post once against Dortmund’s goal. However, on the day Mbappe was tightly marked, the remaining attacking lines of PSG also disappointed.
