Striker Harry Kane asserts that he has “many more years to contribute,” determined to silence those who mock him for his lack of titles.
Harry Kane responds to criticism: “Life is long.”
The captain of the England national team ended his long-term relationship with Tottenham in the summer of 2023 after failing to secure any major trophies with the North London club. His high-priced transfer to Germany was expected to bring the specific success he desired.
However, Bayern Munich went through an unusual period of turbulence in their pursuit of major honors. Bayer Leverkusen clinched the Bundesliga title in a historic fashion. Kane and his former teammates also endured disappointment in the domestic cup, making the Champions League the only path towards glory.
They reached the semi-finals of that competition, where they will face Real Madrid, but Kane told TNT Sports Brazil why he isn’t overly concerned about the possibility of ending the 2023-24 season empty-handed: “I think the only person I need to prove something to is myself. I always talk about improving and trying to be better every day. Winning is the result of doing all the right things, preparing, and executing everything that people don’t see.”
“Of course, you know, I know that not having won any trophies in my career is difficult. But I also know I have many years ahead and I’m at Bayern Munich to try to achieve that. We have a chance in the Champions League to do something special. So, that’s my motivation and that’s what I will continue to strive for.”
Kane isn’t worried about the prospect of ending the current season empty-handed.
Kane has scored 39 goals this season, contributing to Bayern’s overall success, and he still has a contract until 2027. He hasn’t hinted at any signs suggesting his time at the Allianz Arena will be cut short, meaning he still has plenty of opportunities to pursue titles.
