According to The Guardian, Chelsea will join the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala, who is also being pursued by Man City.
Jamal Musiala is one of the standout talents in today’s football world. The 21-year-old player is a key figure for Bayern Munich, displaying versatility as an attacking midfielder who excels in central midfield, supporting the attack, or playing on the wings.
Musiala’s current contract with Bayern runs until 2026. While the Bavarian club is keen on extending his contract, negotiations have hit an impasse. Musiala is believed to be discontent with Bayern’s current situation and could depart if presented with a compelling offer.
Chelsea also wants to acquire Jamal Musiala.
Pep Guardiola is very fond of Musiala, targeting him as a replacement for Bernardo Silva, who could depart in the summer of 2024. The 21-year-old midfielder was once a standout at Chelsea’s academy before moving to Germany five years ago. According to The Guardian, Chelsea will join the race to sign Musiala.
The Blues are keen to bring Musiala back to Stamford Bridge, willing to invest at least 80 million euros in this deal. Chelsea is currently focused on young players, believing Musiala would be a perfect fit.
Musiala has scored 12 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions for Bayern this season and is expected to play a crucial role in Germany’s Euro 2024 campaign. Bayern has expressed its desire to keep their star, but if Man City and Chelsea offer significant sums, they will surely have to consider.
