Winger Leroy Sane is ready to extend his contract with Bayern to fulfill his special wishes in 2025.
Leroy Sane is one of the key players of Bayern whose contract will expire in the summer of 2025, alongside Joshua Kimmich, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller, and Alphonso Davies.
If his contract isn’t extended, Sane is likely to be sold by Bayern this summer. The Bavarian team could fetch no less than €50 million for one of the best wingers in the Bundesliga.
However, this scenario is unlikely. Both Sane and Bayern are keen on reaching a new agreement. The prospect of the 2025 Champions League final taking place at Bayern’s Allianz Arena adds a special allure for Sane. The 28-year-old player has always dreamed of playing in the Champions League final on his home ground.
Sane just played very well in the first-leg quarter-final match against Arsenal in the Champions League.
Therefore, Sane prioritizes staying at Bayern rather than joining another big club. The former Man City player is even willing to accept a wage cut to sign a new contract. It’s worth noting that Sane currently receives one of the highest salaries at Bayern, earning €384,000 per week. However, Bayern will only agree to an extension if Sane agrees to a pay cut.
Despite Bayern’s downturn in the Bundesliga this season, Sane has still performed quite well. The German winger has scored 9 goals and provided 13 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions this season.
In the first-leg quarter-final match against Arsenal in the Champions League, Sane also made a strong impression by contributing to both of Bayern’s goals. The 28-year-old player hopes to finalize his contract extension with Bayern early so he can focus on participating in Euro 2024 with the German national team.
Apart from Sane, Kimmich and Davies will also see their contracts expire in 2025. However, there’s a high possibility that these two stars will leave Bayern this summer. Kimmich is currently attracting special interest from Liverpool and Arsenal, while Davies is rumored to have reached a personal agreement with Real Madrid.
