Despite losing control in the race for this season’s Premier League title, Declan Rice still hopes for a comeback for Arsenal.
Arsenal hasn’t given up yet.
Arsenal couldn’t secure a win against Aston Villa at home, allowing Manchester City to snatch the top spot from the hands of Mikel Arteta’s team. This means Arsenal will lose control over the remainder of this season.
Arsenal’s hope is dwindling but not entirely lost. Declan Rice believes that in the Premier League, anything can happen, and the English midfielder still has faith that Arsenal can clinch the title at the end of the season.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Declan Rice said: “In football, if you can’t win, it’s as good as losing. Meanwhile, Arsenal wants to win every game.”
“This is Arsenal; being an Arsenal player always comes with pressure. It’s the pressure to win, and we always know we carry that responsibility on our shoulders. The whole team understands that today’s goal is nothing but three points, and Arsenal couldn’t achieve it.
But now is not the time for regrets. We need to face this issue seriously. Since January, no one could predict that Arsenal would come this far. Today, everything halted. Nobody wants this outcome, but sometimes there are things teams need to refocus on and start over.
I still feel that things can turn around in the time ahead. The Premier League is witnessing a title race among three teams, and Arsenal’s two opponents have quality squads.
But this is the Premier League; anything can happen. We can only control what we can do. It’s not the story of today, but Arsenal can restart in the upcoming six matches. We will give our all in these six remaining final matches of the season.”
