Uncertainty looming over futures: Real Madrid identify Bundesliga wonderkid duo as Kroos-Modric replacement

In recent months, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have been the center of attention due to the uncertainty surrounding their futures.

Although Kroos’ contract may shortly be extended, the German player has already stated that he would prefer to retire early. Modric, on the other hand, is unlikely to stay with Real Madrid, while a renewal is not completely ruled out.

Real Madrid has already begun looking for Kroos and Modric’s perfect replacement, despite acknowledging their talent and expertise.

Juni Calafat provides two names

In light of this, Defensa Central claims that the Real Madrid management has already been notified of two players who may eventually succeed Kroos and Modric.

Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen and Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich are the two players in question.

The Real Madrid board, therefore, has complete faith in Calafat, who wants the club to bring in either Musiala and Wirtz in the near future.

Realistic options for Real Madrid?

Real Madrid probably couldn’t afford any of these players in the current situation, though, given that their prices might skyrocket in the upcoming summer.

Not to add, Real Madrid is already chasing players like Leny Yoro, Alphonso Davies, and Kylian Mbappe, which will strain the team’s financial resources.

In light of this, it could be prudent for Real Madrid to hold off on making moves for Wirtz and Musiala until the summer of 2025.

Xabi Alonso, who is focused on the Real Madrid position and may bring the German with him, is in charge of Wirtz in particular.

In contrast, Bayern Munich is not inclined to entertain bids for its star player, Musiala, particularly following a subpar Bundesliga campaign.

Therefore, while Real Madrid searches for a player to eventually replace Kroos and Modric, patience may be the most important virtue.
